Mechanic/Technician required:

 

Our main focus is the contracted repairs, servicing and maintenance of NZ Fire Appliances throughout the greater Waikato area.

We also provide small vehicle servicing, Wof’s and repairs, Motorbike and Forklift Wof’s.

We provide a clean, tidy well equipped workshop in Te Rapa, Hamilton.

The successful applicant would require:

To be a NZ Certified, Diesel or Petrol mechanic.

Be able to work unsupervised either in our workshop or out onsite.

Hold a clean Class 2 minimum NZ Heavy Truck license.

WOF Certified would be an advantage.

The applicant will carry out the duties of a mechanic, able to work on all makes of trucks, cars and portable equipment.

Training is provided where necessary. fire pumps are our specialty so pump operation and repair training will be provided.

Our normal work hours are 7.00am to 5.00pm. staff are able to work 8 hours per day within those hours.

Overtime is not a requirement but is available to staff from time to time.

You would be required to be part of our rostered after hours callout team, working one week in four or five if required to attend after hours breakdowns.

a separate remuneration is paid for this. You would join our small team of staff members who work and relate well with each other.

Pump Testing Technician required:

From our Base workshop in Te Rapa Hamilton, We operate a mobile Fire pump testing program. This requires traveling the north island with a dedicated vehicle and Test rig visiting Fire stations to test all pumps on site and reporting on condition and performance. Portable pump and Generators also form part of our service to FENZ(Fire Emergency New Zealand), So small engine knowledge and repair skills would be an asset. As this is a specialized roll, All training will be provided to the successful applicant.

The successful applicant would require:

Mechanical back ground or training would be proffered.

Hold or obtain a clean Class 2 minimum NZ Heavy Truck license.

Able to service and maintain small engines and equipment.

Be able to work unsupervised either in our workshop or out onsite.

The applicant will be traveling mostly alone, But also work well with others from time to time.

Be able to self-manage their work schedule and day to day, week to week, Month to month work/routine.

Be friendly and well presented, This role requires interaction with FENZ staff of varying rank, Including Area/Regional and national leaders.

Training is provided where necessary. fire pumps are our specialty so pump operation and repair training will be provided.

Rescue Equipment Technician required:

Rescue Equipment forms a vital part of the ability for FENZ(Fire Emergency NZ). Without equipment available and  operating correctly, when its needed, Lives are at risk.

Rescue Equipment covers all Hydraulic “Jaws of life” style tools and systems to Pneumatic lifting bags and accessories. We offer a Mobile service operating from Waikato to Canterbury. Our Hamilton Based workshop has a dedicated service and test area and is Fully set up with test and service equipment, capable of carrying out any and all jobs and operates as back up to our Mobile Unit. Our mobile unit is also fully equipped with all test and service equipment.

Training will be provided, However a good understanding of Engines and Hydraulics, both diagnosis and repair, would be an advantage.

The successful applicant would require:

Mechanical back ground or training would be proffered.

Hold a current, clean motor vehicle licence. Class 2(HT) would

Able to service and maintain small engines and equipment.

Be able to work unsupervised either in our workshop or out onsite.

The applicant will be traveling mostly alone, But also work well with others from time to time.

Be able to self-manage their work schedule and day to day, week to week, Month to month work/routine.

Be friendly and well presented, This role requires interaction with FENZ staff of varying rank, Including Area/Regional and national leaders.
